Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV, which included the work A wounded doe by Cornelis Saftleven. The price achieved of EUR 4,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Saftleven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A cat peeping through a fence in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 357,599.81).
