A top price for Cornelis Raaphorst - as previously expected
The work The Bird Cage by Cornelis Raaphorst was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in October 2006. The price achieved of EUR 15,600.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Bird Cage is the most expensive artwork by Cornelis Raaphorst that we have observed at auctions so far.
