Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kittens At Play by Cornelis Raaphorst was sold in the Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in March 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,200.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Raaphorst - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bird Cage, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 15,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Kittens At Play von Cornelis Raaphorst wurde im März 2007 in der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.200,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Raaphorst mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bird Cage beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 15.600,00 versteigert wurde.
