etching, 1685, on laid paper, watermark Pro Patria, a very fine, lively impression of the second state (of three), printing with great contrasts and luminosity, trimmed on or to the platemark but retaining a fillet of blank paper outside the borderline on all sides, some minor staining, otherwise in very good condition

Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work The Large Village Fair by Cornelis Dusart for GBP 2,400.00 (€ 2,866.03). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Dusart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Village Fair With Dancing In The Street in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 75,482.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Large Village Fair von Cornelis Dusart für GBP 2.400,00 (€ 2.866,03) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Dusart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Village Fair With Dancing In The Street im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 75.482,93).
