Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Peasant Family Outside A Cottage by Cornelis Dusart was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,539.88). Admittedly, works by Cornelis Dusart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Village Fair With Dancing In The Street in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 75,482.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Peasant Family Outside A Cottage von Cornelis Dusart im Januar 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.539,88) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Dusart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Village Fair With Dancing In The Street im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 75.482,93).
