The work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Presumed To Be René De Batarnay, Comte Du Bouchage by Corneille de Lyon was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015. It achieved a price of GBP 233,000.00 (€ 330,315.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 29%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Corneille de Lyon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a merchant, traditionally identified as Theodore Beza (1519-1605), which sold at auction in December 2016 for GBP 665,000.00 (€ 777,492.89).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Presumed To Be René De Batarnay, Comte Du Bouchage von Corneille de Lyon kam im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 233.000,00 (€ 330.315,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 29%. Für andere Arbeiten von Corneille de Lyon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a merchant, traditionally identified as Theodore Beza (1519-1605) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für GBP 665.000,00 (€ 777.492,89) versteigert wurde.
