Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work Portrait of a noblewoman, seated small three quarter length in a landscape, wearing a blue lined, ochre silk dress with lace chemise, pink silk wrap and a diamond brooch, holding a pet dog on her lap by Constantijn Netscher. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of NLG 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of NLG 21,063.60 (€ 9,197.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Constantijn Netscher - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Young Hunter In A Landscape With His Dog, which sold at auction in February 2018 for USD 40,000.00 (€ 32,757.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a noblewoman, seated small three quarter length in a landscape, wearing a blue lined, ochre silk dress with lace chemise, pink silk wrap and a diamond brooch, holding a pet dog on her lap von Constantijn Netscher zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von NLG 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von NLG 21.063,60 (€ 9.197,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Constantijn Netscher mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Hunter In A Landscape With His Dog beobachtet, die im Februar 2018 für USD 40.000,00 (€ 32.757,35) versteigert wurde.
