This artwork by Robert Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2003. In the Arts of India auction, the work Dwellings in the Himalayan foothills sold for GBP 10,157.50 (€ 10,231.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Mount Erskine and Pulo Ticoose, Prince of Wales' Island in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 87,464.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Smith erzielte im September 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Arts of India wurde die Arbeit Dwellings in the Himalayan foothills für GBP 10.157,50 (€ 10.231,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Mount Erskine and Pulo Ticoose, Prince of Wales' Island im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.500,00 (€ 87.464,60).
