Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Wafted by favoring gales, she nears her rest." by Henry Stuart Wortley was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 836.50 (€ 1,309.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Stuart Wortley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'A Sail By Moon Light', which sold at auction in April 2010 for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,819.12).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 836,50 (€ 1.309,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
