Despite a disappointment, a good price for Henry Stuart Wortley
When the work 'A Sail By Moon Light' by Henry Stuart Wortley was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,819.12). Despite this disappointing result, 'A Sail By Moon Light' is the most expensive artwork by Henry Stuart Wortley that we have observed at auction so far.
