Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View from the top of the cliff Muriwai, no. 3 by Colin McCahon was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2003. The price achieved of AUD 117,500.00 (€ 69,413.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Colin McCahon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Can You Hear Me St Francis, which sold at auction in May 2004 for AUD 261,400.00 (€ 152,727.61).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 117.500,00 (€ 69.413,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden.
