Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work The Nest by Clifton Pugh. The price achieved of AUD 10,755.00 (€ 6,521.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 9,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clifton Pugh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian A Feral Cat, which sold at auction in April 2008 for AUD 42,000.00 (€ 25,410.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Nest von Clifton Pugh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 10.755,00 (€ 6.521,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 9.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Clifton Pugh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian A Feral Cat beobachtet, die im April 2008 für AUD 42.000,00 (€ 25.410,97) versteigert wurde.
