Auction result well in line with expectations
The work First Day of Spring by Clifton Pugh was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2005. The price achieved of AUD 14,340.00 (€ 8,695.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clifton Pugh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian A Feral Cat, which sold at auction in April 2008 for AUD 42,000.00 (€ 25,410.97).

Die Arbeit First Day of Spring von Clifton Pugh wurde im April 2005 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 14.340,00 (€ 8.695,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Clifton Pugh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian A Feral Cat beobachtet, die im April 2008 für AUD 42.000,00 (€ 25.410,97) versteigert wurde.
