In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A pastoral landscape with a coastal view in the background, a building with a tower to the left, herdsman and cattle by Claude Gellée. The »bidding war« ended at USD 44,100.00 (€ 36,341.16), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Gellée achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mediterranean Port At Sunrise With The Embarkation Of Saint Paula For Jerusalem in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 4,450,000.00 (€ 5,352,659.84).

Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A pastoral landscape with a coastal view in the background, a building with a tower to the left, herdsman and cattle von Claude Gellée zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 36.341,16) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Gellée erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Mediterranean Port At Sunrise With The Embarkation Of Saint Paula For Jerusalem im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.450.000,00 (€ 5.352.659,84).
