Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Morning, Newlyn by Claude Barry was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in June 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,056.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Barry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work London and Wartime: Nocturne in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 230,500.00 (€ 325,002.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Morning, Newlyn von Claude Barry wurde im Juni 2014 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.056,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Barry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit London and Wartime: Nocturne im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 230.500,00 (€ 325.002,11).
