Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Aveux Non Avenus. Paris: Éditions du Carrefour, 1930. by Claude Cahun was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2009. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,289.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Cahun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Observation, Aveux non avenus (planche I), 1929-1930 in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 223,500.00.
