Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Christies in Paris held the auction Photographies, which included the work Sans Titre, 1936-1939 by Claude Cahun. It changed hands for a price of EUR 47,100.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Claude Cahun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Observation, Aveux non avenus (planche I), 1929-1930 in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 223,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Photographies durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sans Titre, 1936-1939 von Claude Cahun zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 47.100,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Claude Cahun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Observation, Aveux non avenus (planche I), 1929-1930 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 223.500,00.
