Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selfportrait With Cat, C. 1927 by Claude Cahun was sold in the Photographies auction at Sothebys in Paris in November 2018. It changed hands for a price of EUR 18,750.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Cahun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Observation, Aveux non avenus (planche I), 1929-1930 in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 223,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Selfportrait With Cat, C. 1927 von Claude Cahun wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Photographies bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 18.750,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Cahun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Observation, Aveux non avenus (planche I), 1929-1930 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 223.500,00.
