Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Clare Leighton was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year. The price achieved of USD 178.50 (€ 167.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150.00 – 250.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Clare Leighton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bread Line, New York in August this year with an auction result of USD 11,970.00 (€ 11,043.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Clare Leighton kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 178,50 (€ 167,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150,00 – 250,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Clare Leighton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bread Line, New York im August diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.970,00 (€ 11.043,45).
