Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Joseph moving the stone from the well by Claes Moeyaert was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,144.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Moeyaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The worship of the Golden Calf in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 59,217.58).

Die Arbeit Joseph moving the stone from the well von Claes Moeyaert kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.144,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Moeyaert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The worship of the Golden Calf im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 59.217,58).
