A top price for Claes Moeyaert - as previously expected
In July 2010 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours Day, which included the work The worship of the Golden Calf by Claes Moeyaert. The price achieved of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 59,217.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The worship of the Golden Calf is the most expensive artwork by Claes Moeyaert that we have observed at auctions so far.
