Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Kiev MC Arsat (Zodiak-9) 30mm f3.5 1:3 .5 Product Aperture f/3 .5 Serial Number 870701 Medium Format Camera Lens Douglas M. Parker Studio, Glendale, California, August 4, 2005 by Christopher Williams. The price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,512.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Angola to Vietnam in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 76,375.00 (€ 81,877.14).

Parker Studio, Glendale, California, August 4, 2005 von Christopher Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.512,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Angola to Vietnam im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 76.375,00 (€ 81.877,14).
