Auction result well in line with expectations

However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christoffel Pierson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A trompe l'oeil of hunting equipment, which sold at auction in October 2001 for USD 143,500.00 (€ 159,568.55).

Die Arbeit A trompe l'oeil of Hawking Equipment, including a glove, a net, and falconry hoods, hanging on a wall von Christoffel Pierson kam im Januar 2009 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 58.184,94) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00.
