Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Highest Player 02 by Christine Ay Tjoe was sold in the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2021. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 5,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 5,250,000.00 (€ 594,672.20). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christine Ay Tjoe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Layer As A Hiding Place, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 13,050,000.00 (€ 1,549,315.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Highest Player 02 von Christine Ay Tjoe wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 5.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 5.250.000,00 (€ 594.672,20) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Christine Ay Tjoe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Layer As A Hiding Place beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für HKD 13.050.000,00 (€ 1.549.315,07) versteigert wurde.
