Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Flying Balloon by Christine Ay Tjoe was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. It changed hands for a price of HKD 5,935,000.00 (€ 650,259.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christine Ay Tjoe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Layer As A Hiding Place, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 13,050,000.00 (€ 1,549,315.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Flying Balloon von Christine Ay Tjoe kam im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 5.935.000,00 (€ 650.259,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Christine Ay Tjoe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Layer As A Hiding Place beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für HKD 13.050.000,00 (€ 1.549.315,07) versteigert wurde.
