Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Christian Friedrich Zincke achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2017. In the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction, the work Portrait Of William Gore, Of Woodford, County Leitrim (1711-1769) sold for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,463.39) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Friedrich Zincke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four important enamel miniatures set in a Fine George II Enamel and Gold Portrait Box with hinged lid and base, the concave sides chased with reeded c-scrolls and shellwork on a frosted gold ground and enamelled en basse-taille with leaves in translu in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 56,400.00 (

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Four important enamel miniatures set in a Fine George II Enamel and Gold Portrait Box with hinged lid and base, the concave sides chased with reeded c-scrolls and shellwork on a frosted gold ground and enamelled en basse-taille with leaves in translu im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.400,00 (€ 91.253,72).
