This artwork by Christian Friedrich Zincke achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2009. In the Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction, the work Mary Campbell, née Bellenden (bap. 1685, d. 1736), in black Renaissance-style dress, pearl strand suspended across the bodice, pearl necklace, white ruff with lace band, a gold embroidered black cap with white feather in her upswept dark brown hair sold for GBP 4,375.00 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Friedrich Zincke achieve.
