Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A steam boat off the coast of Genoa by Christian Frederic Eckardt was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 2,000.00 (€ 268.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Frederic Eckardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Danish Morning In The Bay Of Corfu in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 60,500.00 (€ 84,715.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A steam boat off the coast of Genoa von Christian Frederic Eckardt im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 2.000,00 (€ 268,44) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christian Frederic Eckardt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Danish Morning In The Bay Of Corfu im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.500,00 (€ 84.715,65).
