Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Muhammad Ali - 5Th Street Gym by Chris Smith. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,176.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chris Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ali And The Beatles, 1964 in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,136.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Muhammad Ali - 5Th Street Gym von Chris Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.176,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chris Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ali And The Beatles, 1964 im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.136,87).
