Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Chris Ofili achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2019. In the Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Collection - Online Only auction, the work Afro Luna Lovers sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,077.93) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Ofili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Virgin Mary in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,882,500.00 (€ 4,064,288.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chris Ofili erzielte im März 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Collection - Online Only wurde die Arbeit Afro Luna Lovers für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.077,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Ofili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Virgin Mary im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.882.500,00 (€ 4.064.288,82).
