Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Chris Martin could be acquired at Phillips in New York in February 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now Day Sale auction, the work Empty Frame Painting (Homage to Al Jensen) changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,051.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chris Martin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Staring into the Sun, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,192.81).
