Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Indian Art Including Art from Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which included the work Unlimited by Chintan Upadhyay. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,775.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chintan Upadhyay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Together For Life Whether We Like It Or Not in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 111,890.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art Including Art from Pakistan and Sri Lanka durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unlimited von Chintan Upadhyay zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.775,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chintan Upadhyay auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Together For Life Whether We Like It Or Not im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 111.890,87).
