Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work Horses By Willow Grove by Cheng Zhang was worth HKD 150,000.00 (€ 15,827.40) to a buyer in April 2018. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cheng Zhang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Squirrels And Grapes sold at auction in November 2013 with the realized price of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,073.06).

Die Arbeit Horses By Willow Grove von Cheng Zhang war einem Käufer im April 2018 HKD 150.000,00 (€ 15.827,40) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cheng Zhang; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Squirrels And Grapes im November 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 26.073,06).
