The work Horses By Willow Grove by Cheng Zhang was worth HKD 150,000.00 (€ 15,827.40) to a buyer in April 2018. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cheng Zhang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Squirrels And Grapes sold at auction in November 2013 with the realized price of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,073.06).
