This artwork by Cheng Zhang achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II auction, the work Eight Horses Relaxing sold for HKD 59,000.00 (€ 6,493.65) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 32,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cheng Zhang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Squirrels And Grapes in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,073.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 84 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cheng Zhang erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II wurde die Arbeit Eight Horses Relaxing für HKD 59.000,00 (€ 6.493,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 32.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cheng Zhang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Squirrels And Grapes im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 26.073,06).
