The work Perching By The Plantain Leaves by Chen Zhifo was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 437,500.00 (€ 51,484.67), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Zhifo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eagle on White Prunus, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 1,950,000.00 (€ 193,378.50).

Die Arbeit Perching By The Plantain Leaves von Chen Zhifo wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 51.484,67) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Zhifo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eagle on White Prunus beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 1.950.000,00 (€ 193.378,50) versteigert wurde.
