A top price for Chen Zengshou
When the work Landscape by Chen Zengshou was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 180,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 11 times as high at HKD 2,120,000.00 (€ 249,480.02). This high result makes Landscape the most expensive artwork by Chen Zengshou that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Chen Zengshou
Als die Arbeit Landscape von Chen Zengshou im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 180.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 2.120.000,00 (€ 249.480,02) mehr als elfmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Landscape zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Chen Zengshou, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
