Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Ink Landscape / Calligraphy by Chen Zengshou was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. The auction ended at the price of HKD 20,000.00 (€ 2,114.15), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Zengshou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 2,120,000.00 (€ 249,480.02).
