Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Orchids by Chen Yuansu was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,093.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Yuansu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Cursive Script in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,375,000.00 (€ 151,334.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Orchids von Chen Yuansu kam im März 2012 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.093,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Yuansu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems In Cursive Script im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.375.000,00 (€ 151.334,99).
