Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Chen Yiming could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the An Important Private Collection of Reunification Art - A Charity Auction to Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Hong Kong's Reunification with China - to benefit The China Red Cross Foundation auction, the work Patriotic Scholar - Chao Juren changed hands for HKD 240,000.00 (€ 22,704.14) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Yiming have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Canary in June 2014 with an auction result of CNY 1,770,000.00 (€ 208,417.82).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Yiming auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Canary im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 1.770.000,00 (€ 208.417,82).
