This artwork by Chen Yifei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Modern Asian Art auction, the work Travelling Home (Suzhou) sold for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 98,526.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Yifei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauties on Promenade in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 83,350,000.00 (€ 9,106,362.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Yifei erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Travelling Home (Suzhou) für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 98.526,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Yifei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beauties on Promenade im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.350.000,00 (€ 9.106.362,47).
