This artwork by Chen Yifei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Still Life - Flowers sold for HKD 23,250,000.00 (€ 2,760,273.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 12,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Yifei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beauties on Promenade, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 83,350,000.00 (€ 9,106,362.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 94 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Yifei erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Still Life - Flowers für HKD 23.250.000,00 (€ 2.760.273,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 12.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Yifei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Beauties on Promenade beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 83.350.000,00 (€ 9.106.362,47) versteigert wurde.
