Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Encaged Thoughts by Chen Yifei. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 2,740,000.00 (€ 295,002.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Yifei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauties on Promenade in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 83,350,000.00 (€ 9,106,362.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Encaged Thoughts von Chen Yifei zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 2.500.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 2.740.000,00 (€ 295.002,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Yifei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beauties on Promenade im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.350.000,00 (€ 9.106.362,47).
