Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flowers after Ancient Master by Chen Shu was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. The price achieved of HKD 27,720.00 (€ 3,351.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Shu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Guan Zhongji in April 2018 with an auction result of HKD 354,000.00 (€ 37,352.66).
