This artwork by Chen Shizeng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Seven Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Stone-Drum Script sold for HKD 112,500.00 (€ 11,892.12) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Shizeng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 123,185.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Shizeng erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Seven Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Stone-Drum Script für HKD 112.500,00 (€ 11.892,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Shizeng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 123.185,81).
