This artwork by Chen Shizeng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in February this year. In the Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Five-character Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script sold for HKD 107,100.00 (€ 12,869.78) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Shizeng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 123,185.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Shizeng erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Five-character Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script für HKD 107.100,00 (€ 12.869,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Shizeng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 123.185,81).
