The work Lotus, Taro and Loofah by Chen Shizeng was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in December 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 177,500.00 (€ 20,105.58), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 48%. Admittedly, works by Chen Shizeng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 123,185.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Lotus, Taro and Loofah von Chen Shizeng kam im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 177.500,00 (€ 20.105,58) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 48%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Shizeng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 123.185,81).
