The work Eight-character Calligraphic Couplet in Bronze Script by Chen Shizeng was worth HKD 277,200.00 (€ 33,310.02) to a buyer in February this year. This price was achieved in the auction Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Shizeng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers, which sold at auction in September 2015 for USD 137,500.00 (€ 123,185.81).

Die Arbeit Eight-character Calligraphic Couplet in Bronze Script von Chen Shizeng war einem Käufer im Februar diesen Jahres HKD 277.200,00 (€ 33.310,02) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Shizeng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers beobachtet, die im September 2015 für USD 137.500,00 (€ 123.185,81) versteigert wurde.
