Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Chen Jiru achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Plum Blossom Branch sold for USD 162,500.00 (€ 151,289.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Jiru - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 336,000.00 (€ 343,121.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Jiru erzielte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Plum Blossom Branch für USD 162.500,00 (€ 151.289,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Jiru mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 336.000,00 (€ 343.121,74) versteigert wurde.
