Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Landscape After Mi Fu by Chen Jiru. The price achieved of HKD 1,449,000.00 (€ 155,138.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Jiru - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 336,000.00 (€ 343,121.74).
