Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Su Shi’s Poems in Running Script by Chen Jiru. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,546.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Jiru achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in April this year with an auction result of HKD 336,000.00 (€ 343,121.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Su Shi’s Poems in Running Script von Chen Jiru zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.546,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Jiru erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 336.000,00 (€ 343.121,74).
